THE DANCE CENTRE - STUDIO TERMS & CONDITIONS Last updated: July 2026 1. ENROLMENT 1.1 Enrolment is confirmed once a place is offered and the first invoice is issued. Places are allocated on a first-in basis and subject to class availability. 1.2 A student's enrolment continues from term to term unless written notice of withdrawal is provided (see clause 6). 1.3 The Studio may decline or discontinue an enrolment where a student or family is unable to comply with these Terms, studio policies, or reasonable conduct expectations. 2. FEES & PAYMENT 2.1 Term fees are billed at the start of each term. Weekly direct-debit and annual up-front options are available at parent request. 2.2 Fees are payable by the due date shown on the invoice. Late or unpaid fees may result in suspension of participation until the account is brought up to date. 2.3 Fees are non-transferable between families and between terms unless expressly agreed by the Studio in writing. 2.4 Sibling, add-on, and multi-class discounts are applied automatically at billing where eligible. 3. FIRST CLASS FREE / TRIAL 3.1 New students may attend one trial class free of charge. If the student continues after the trial, standard term fees apply pro-rata from the second class. 4. ATTENDANCE, MAKE-UPS & MISSED CLASSES 4.1 Regular attendance is expected. No refund or credit is issued for classes missed by the student. 4.2 Where a class is cancelled by the Studio (e.g. teacher illness, facility closure), a make-up class or credit will be offered. 5. UNIFORM, CONDUCT & SAFETY 5.1 Students must wear the required uniform, tie hair back, and remove jewellery for class. 5.2 The Studio has zero tolerance for bullying, harassment, or unsafe behaviour by students, parents, or guardians. 5.3 Parents/guardians are responsible for supervising children before and after their scheduled class. Children must not be dropped off more than 10 minutes prior to class. 6. WITHDRAWAL / CANCELLATION OF ENROLMENT 6.1 To withdraw a student, written notice (email to the Studio) is required by the end of week 4 of the current term. Notice given after week 4 will incur that term's full fees. 6.2 Refunds are handled per the Cancellation & Refund Policy. 7. PHOTOGRAPHY, VIDEO & MEDIA 7.1 By enrolling, parents/guardians consent to the Studio recording concerts, exams, and classes for educational and promotional purposes, unless the photo-consent checkbox on the enrolment form is left unticked. 7.2 Parents are asked not to publish images of other people's children without their permission. 8. INJURY & LIABILITY 8.1 Dance carries an inherent risk of injury. Parents must disclose any medical conditions, injuries, or allergies at enrolment and keep the Studio updated. 8.2 To the extent permitted by law, the Studio is not liable for personal injury, illness, or loss/damage of property arising from participation in classes or studio events, except where caused by the Studio's negligence. 8.3 Nothing in these Terms limits your rights under the Australian Consumer Law. 9. CONCERTS, COSTUMES & EXAMS 9.1 Costume, ticket, and exam-entry fees are separate from term fees and payable in advance by the published cut-off date. Costume orders are non-refundable once placed with the supplier. 10. PRIVACY 10.1 Personal information is handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy and the Australian Privacy Principles. 11. CHANGES TO CLASSES & TERMS 11.1 The Studio may vary class times, teachers, or venues, and may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated to families via email or the Parent Portal. 12. GOVERNING LAW 12.1 These Terms are governed by the laws of Queensland, Australia.
